Alex Wilson

Alex Wilson grew up in a small town called Albion in Pennsylvania. Alex's whole life has been submerged in cinema, whether he was watching movies, reading about movies, collecting VHS tapes, or even writing fan fiction for A Nightmare on Elm Street (his favorite movie as a kid). At the age of 10 years old, he wrote his first script for a horror movie called "Chain Reaction", a Texas Chainsaw Massacre ripoff that was going to be shot on Hi-8 VHS, but it never materialized. Still, Alex pressed on and began to write another script for a horror film called "Crates", but he never finished it. He decided to give up his dream of becoming a filmmaker, until he discovered the films of David Lynch in 10th grade. After watching The Grandmother and Eraserhead, Alex instantly regained the motivation to work in film again, and made the experimental short film, "Life is But a Dream". Right after finishing it, he began writing for a more linear, yet still experimental, surreal-horror short film called "Luminary of the Past", about a washed up performer who, after taking an unknown drug, has hallucinations/visions of his past as a performer and social misfit. About a year later, he made the experimental short film, "Nude at a Funeral", based on dreams and closed-eye-visuals he had. For about 2 years, Alex wrote around 4 short film scripts, and a collaboration feature-length script with a friend (which never materialized), but it wasn't until he discovered the films of Harmony Korine, Werner Herzog, and Jonas Mekas, that Alex decided to take a hand at writing a feature film. His first try was for a film called "Mutt", an experimental drama about three siblings secretly living on their own after their father had been arrested for child molestation. Alex began filming for "Mutt", but grew dissatisfied with the film, and dropped it. During this time, Alex discovered zines, and began making his own, compiling images from dreams, images and phrases in his head, and even real life events and people he found interesting. Reading through these, Alex found that many of the entries would look great if they were visualized. So, Alex began writing his feature-length film, "Lighter Fluid", which was based on his zines. He completed the script over a course of 3 months, and completed filming in 5 months. As of now, the only way to see the film is through a mediafire link, or on VHS from Alex's storenvy page. Currently, Alex is writing a coming of age drama film, titled "Market" (alternatively titled "Pumpkins"), a short film called "Senses", and an untitled surrealist play
